FAQs
No. You can self-refer, book directly, and pay privately. Referrals are only required if you wish to access rebates from Medicare or fully funded services through DVA, workers’ compensation or another scheme we are providers for such as WA Police Force, Open Arms, or BUPA-ADF Health Services.
Sessions are confidential. The only exceptions are the standard legal ones that apply to all psychologists — risk of serious harm or a court order — and we’ll explain exactly where those lines sit before you tell us anything. Under some funding rules, a brief report back to your GP or health unit is often required. If you have any concerns about this, get in touch so we can explain the funding rules specific to your situation, the type if information that is required to be shared, and to whom.
Yes — Australia-wide, for every service we provide. For many people it’s the practical option: regional and remote postings, FIFO rosters, shift work. All you need is a private space and a reasonable internet connection.
You don’t have to work that out before booking. Tell us what’s going on in plain terms and we’ll figure out the right starting point together in the first session. Nothing gets locked in — if the fit isn’t right, we adjust.
We don’t provide couples counselling or family therapy, but if you would like your partner or another family member to attend a session every now and then so we can discuss what’s happening in therapy and how to best support you, that’s okay.
A one-page toolkit of practical techniques you can use the moment things feel overwhelming.
